About Us

Junior Quarter Midgets Australia is a not-for-profit organisation.  The JQMA has established a rule book for Junior Quarter Midget racing in Australia that is compatible with the USA and provides a single nation-wide formula for Australia.

The JQMA has established a race licensing system and entered into an arrangement with NASR to provide insurance cover.

The JQMA will maintain a public website of news and information, will publicise quarter midget racing through regular press articles and will send out eNewsletters to its members.

Membership of the JQMA helps to fund the administration of the organisation.

There are two levels of membership:

  • Individual (non-racing) includes Official, Pit Crew/Handler

$25 (JQMA) plus $25 (Club Fee)

  • Family membership (racing) $100 plus $50 (Club Fee)

A Family membership is defined as husband, wife or couple cohabitating and all children/drivers under the age of 18 years of that immediate family that live in the same household.

Family members receive the JQMA rule book, Membership card and JQMA newsletters and can compete in Junior Quarter Midget races.  Membership is for financial year 1 July to 30 June.

The JQMA has established this structure as a base for the establishment of Quarter Midget clubs and tracks across the country,

The dream is that on day an Australian that has graduated from the JQMA will win the Indy 500.

The Objectives of the JQMA are:

  • Provide a development environment that facilitates a "feeder" into Australia's senior motor speedway racing categories

  • Create and maintain a clean, safe, healthy sport for enjoyment by all family members, conducted within an environment of good sportsmanship

  • Teach the younger generation how to properly handle motor vehicles by developing coordination techniques, self reliance attitudes and mental alertness

  • Encourage the younger generation to learn the ideals of fairness, generosity, good sportsmanship and a sense of community responsibility

  • Develop, direct and promote the objectives of associated Quarter Midget Clubs and/or Tracks and their members at a national level
